Online Job Postings Report: Power

Please see below for our summary report regarding Online Job Postings in the UK power industry for the year ending 31 March 2024.

At a total of 20,926 job postings, there has been an 10% increase in the sector compared to the previous year.

Of these vacancies, 750 were Apprenticeship vacancies – up from 687.

Other key findings from the report include:

• Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks and National Grid were the employers with the highest number of job postings during the past year.
• The Job Title with the largest number of vacancies in the past year was Apprentices (243) while the job title which saw the highest growth in job postings over the last 12 months was Utility Arborists (up 135%).
• Project Management was the most sought-after specialist skill (4,202), while Excel skills were the most sought-after common skill (7,924) and Microsoft Office skills were the most sought-after software skill (1,247).
• The Median advertised salary was £42,900 – down 4.6% over the year
