Qualifications

We are delighted to offer our latest qualifications developed using the most recent National Occupational Standards, recently updated by Energy & Utility Skills. These include Level 2 Diploma in Network Construction Operations (Water) – Main Layer / Service Layer / Repair and Maintenance qualifications, and Level 2 Diploma in Network Construction Operations (Gas) – Main Layer / Service Layer / Escape, Locate and Repair qualifications

These qualifications sit alongside others of the same names but have some key differences, including the removal of duplicated or unnecessary content from units, enabling learners to transfer easily and efficiently between qualifications (e.g. Water to Gas) without repeating units, which are mandatory requirements within both qualifications.

Additionally, we now offer the full suite of Street Works Operative and Supervisor Certificates, enabling Operatives and Supervisors to gain initial certification, awarded upon first achievement, or reassessment within five years of initial certification, as required by The New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA).

Each Certificate aims to equip learners with the knowledge, understanding, and skills needed for street works activities. They are assessed individually to ensure Operatives and Supervisors meet specific assessment criteria for outlined tasks. Certificates in Street Works for Operatives and Supervisors meet the NRSWA requirement for a qualified Operative to be on-site at all times during street works.

We are now accepting applications from Centres wishing to be approved to offer these qualifications. To find out more about becoming an EUIAS Centre, please contact qualifications@euias.co.uk or complete the online form, and the team will be in touch.

We are continually expanding our offer to include regulated and non-regulated qualifications as well as EPA, to support the utilities industries to meet their workforce development needs. Currently in development are the following:

  • Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work
  • Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Suite of Confined Spaces qualifications

Our internal team and industry-experienced EQAs remain available to answer any questions, from approval through delivery and external quality assurance, to learner achievement. Training and guidance is provided by our Service Delivery team, supporting Centres to register learners and claim achievements through QuartzWeb, our web-based learner management system available 24/7.
