Help shape National Occupational Standards for gas and water network construction

Energy & Utility Skills invites employers, training providers and professional bodies to be involved in a consultation on revised National Occupational Standards (NOS).

What are National Occupational Standards (NOS)

National Occupational Standards (NOS) describe what an employee needs to do and needs to know to perform a work activity.  They are subject to formal consultation and approval processes and are approved by UK government regulators.

Energy & Utility Skills Online Consultation

With support from across the industry, Energy & Utility Skills has reviewed and revised both the Gas Network Construction Operations (GNC) and Water Network Construction Operations (WNC) NOS suites. They have been updated to ensure they reflect current working practice, and technological changes within the industry, including the moves to alternative fuel sources.

An online consultation on the draft NOS is now open, to gather the views of as many industry stakeholders as possible to ensure they reflect industry best practice.

Get Involved

The online consultation to review and provide feedback on the revised draft NOS for both suites (GNC and WNC) will be open for feedback until 5pm Monday 13 February 2023, click on the links below to provide your comments and feedback.

Our Standards and Qualification Review Privacy Notice sets out how Energy & Utility Skills uses and protects any information you give us as part of the Consultation.
