EUSR Endorses First E-Learning Programme with Viewline

Viewline has become the first company to receive an EUSR endorsement for one of their e-learning programmes.

Viewline specialises in delivering e-learning for drainage investigation and inspection operations through its training centre, TrueTrain. Ian Cameron leads the company and is an expert who has dedicated his career to improving training standards in the drainage industry.

Understanding the value of being associated with the EUSR brand – particularly within the water industry – Ian aimed to have one of Viewline’s e-learning programmes officially endorsed to build customer confidence. However, as Viewline did not fit the traditional criteria for an endorsed training programme, his application initially posed a challenge.

Recognising the growing demand and effectiveness of online training, EUSR’s Quality Team took proactive steps to change their existing processes. They identified a gap in the existing approach and responded by developing a new process to evaluate and endorse e-learning platforms and programmes. This new approach still includes comprehensive quality assurance to ensure the training’s content meets EUSR’s rigorous high standards.

Thanks to this revised approach, Viewline’s e-learning course was assessed and successfully endorsed. The endorsement means customers can now confidently enrol in Viewline’s courses, knowing they meet nationally recognised standards of quality and relevance.

Ian Cameron, Managing Director at Viewline commented:

“I have been passing my expertise and experience to drainage operatives in traditional classroom training course scenarios for many years. The knowledge I share is theory based, which I thought would be appropriate for an online delivery system.

Discussions with the EUSR team during implementation were very useful. As e-learning programmes are relatively new, their input was invaluable and they were very helpful with the endorsement process for our course. We especially appreciated the professional guidance from Boops and the Quality Team, which made the process much easier than I had originally anticipated.”

The new endorsement pathway now paves the way for other e-learning providers to seek an EUSR endorsement, allowing businesses broader access to high-quality, flexible training in the energy and utilities sector. This move reflects EUSR’s commitment to meeting evolving training needs and establishes a new standard for excellence in digital learning.
