Energy & Utility Skills welcomes the National Infrastructure Commission’s report Electricity Distribution Networks: Creating Capacity for the Future and we are pleased to see recommendations that emphasise the importance of meeting workforce and skills challenges.
We have conducted extensive research including the cross-industry Workforce Assessment for the Power and Networks Sector which has informed the Clean Power 2030 Action Plan. We know the size and scale of the skills challenge and our collective focus must be on solutions.
We look forward to working with the Government and employers to support the development of a Net Zero Skills and Workforce Strategy and we are equally committed to working at pace with industry and government to develop skills pathways to meet immediate and critical workforce shortages.
