A Gas Network Craftsperson is in charge of building, maintaining and repairing parts for the country’s gas network, to provide a reliable supply of gas to domestic, commercial and industrial users.
Gateway Requirements
- The stage of the apprenticeship where the apprentice, employer and training provider determine whether the apprentice is ready to undertake end-point assessment
- Apprentices must have compiled and submitted a logbook of evidence to underpin the technical interview
- Apprentices must have achieved English and Mathematics at Level 2
- If required an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement the apprenticeships English and mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3 and British Sign Language qualification are an alternative to English qualifications for whom this is their primary language
The Assessment must be taken in this order:
- Knowledge and skills assessment (50 questions, 1 hour 15 minutes)
- Technical Interview based on the logbook. Two sessions: Session 1 Based on the practical task(s) and Session 2 Based on the evidence in the logbook. Typically last 2 hours (1 hour each session) +/-10% to allow the apprentice to finish the last answer. A set of 10 open questions will be asked in each session. Additional follow up questions are allowed, to seek clarification.
