About us
Energy & Utility Skills Group helps the UK energy and utilities sectors get ready for what’s next.
What we do
At Energy & Utility Skills, we provide membership and skills solutions to help employers attract, develop and retain a sustainable, skilled workforce, as well as ensuring excellence in training in the UK industry.
Membership
Our UK-wide membership consists of the major infrastructure companies within water, power, gas and waste management, and their delivery partners. Our membership brings companies together to collectively identify and address the unique workforce renewal and skills challenges the sector faces. We then engage with governments, regulators and other senior stakeholders to help develop an informed and supportive policy and regulatory environment.
Skills
At Energy & Utility Skills, we collaborate with members and other organisations to craft customised skill solutions, ensuring they attract top talent and foster continuous workforce development. Our expert consultants work closely with our partners to strategise, design, execute and assess tailored solutions to meet their unique needs. Our specialist areas include consulting, apprenticeship standards, attraction and recruitment, and bespoke learning and development programmes.
Our Impact
Through our range of solutions and services, and in collaboration with members and other organisations, we are proud to play a vital role in maintaining a skilled workforce across the energy and utilities industry.
That’s why, each year, we measure our impact and hold ourselves to account through our Collaboration in Action report.
Our 2022/23 report details how we:
- Continue to deliver the Workforce Renewal and Skills Strategy
- Contribute to consultations and calls for evidence for inquiries, reform of qualifications, skills, and the Green Jobs Taskforce
- Meet the challenges of net zero
- Commit to increasing equality, diversity and inclusion for the industry’s workforce
