Energy & Utility Skills Members feature on the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index

Congratulations to utilities participants on their performance in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (GEI).

Hands Held High

Congratulations to utilities participants on their performance in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (GEI). The 2021 list recognises companies committed to inclusion and making opportunities available for women. The utilities sector is ranked second for its disclosure levels and performs above the index average in the levels of women employed at Executive levels.  There is still room for improvement, with representation of women at all other levels in utilities below the GEI benchmark.

In recognising the achievements of utilities participants, Louise Parry, Director of People & Organisational Development comments that ‘measurement is a key component of the sector’s commitment to reflect the communities its workforce serves. United Utilities, SSE, Severn Trent and South West Water (Pennon) who took part in the GEI are also participants in the Energy & Utilities Inclusion Measurement Framework. Alongside wider sector participants, they are committed to measuring inclusion and identifying actions to progress workforce diversity inclusion.’
