Balfour Beatty will deliver the contract from its existing power office in Cumbernauld and will build on the expertise gained from working on major power schemes across challenging terrains in Scotland for SSE, including the Beauly to Denny, Beauly to Mossford and Beauly, Blackhillock and Kintore projects.Neil Kirkby, Managing Director, Balfour Beatty – Power Transmission & Distribution, said:
“This project is a key part of the Scottish Government’s plans to strengthen the transmission network in the north of Scotland and we were able to develop a robust technical solution which supports SHE Transmission with the delivery of such an important power infrastructure upgrade.
“We will be building on this existing strong relationship and seeking to leverage the combined strengths of Balfour Beatty Group to help SHE Transmission provide a safe and reliable supply of electricity to communities we serve across Scotland.
